Ultra-Terrestrial brings together works by FILTH that explore the uneasy relationship with the body. It draws on feminist, posthumanist and queer practice to create speculative works that remind the viewer of their own physicality, in all its messy discomfort and visceral possibility.
Ultra-Terrestrial creates encounters with the distributed and distorted body through video, sound and sculpture. Eschewing the social expectations that require the body to remain tidy, the exhibition treats the body as a physical and material site, embracing its potential for abjection. The exhibition mimics the form of a carnival that simultaneously features the body and becomes a bodily form itself.
